Summer

After a long a long absence from this blog I'm back! Right after the school year ended, I ran my first marathon in the Rock and Roll Marathon and it was a blast. I think the next one will be the CIM in Sacramento. The next day my wife and I got on a plane and went to Italy for 3 weeks. We went to Rome (saw the Pope!), Sorrento, Capri, Ravello, Positano, and Pompei. Needless to say it was incredible. I was able to visit my relatives from Washington state, and I went to the Assessment Training Institute in Portland. I saw some pretty good presentations from Rick Stiggins and Ken O'Connor. My new tech purchase of the summer is the Dell Axim X50 and I love it. I am able to check email and my favorite new website, Bloglines, using the integrated wifi. I have read numerous books including The Da Vinci Code (loved it–much better than I thought it would be), Digital Fortress (so-so), Boys of Winter (terrific), Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons (ran out of English language books in Italy, but surprisingly I liked it), Ira Flatow's They All Laughed… From Light Bulbs to Lasers: The Fascinating Stories Behind the Great Inventions That Have Changed Our Lives(fun read), and Assassination Vacation (fun, quirky, and fascinating). Last, this past week I have started using the Google Upload Video Service (you can find videos by using Google Video Search). In the near future I will be using it to make longer videos available for viewing.
